"Saying It Like It Is", by Sheri Dew

I just wanted to share this quote from Sheri Dew's book "Saying It Like It Is." So far this is my favorite quote in her book.
"We may not be the first generation of sisters to be influenced by the world, but we need to be the last. We've just got to be the last. It is high time for us to arise and have the influence God intended us ti have. It is high time for us to LEAD the women (& young women) of the world. It is high time for us to model the distinctiveness and happiness that set true followers of Jesus Christ apart. "(I added the "young women".)
We have been blessed with the power of persuasion. If we stand together, our voices will be heard. We know what's right and what's wrong, but I think the world has made us afraid to stand up for what we believe. The world has modeled so many of us into thinking that we're not good enough, pretty enough, skinny enough, or rich enough. If we believe that, than we are not true followers of Jesus Christ.
We need to raise our expectations for ourselves and our sons & daughters, our marriages and our friendships. There is too much at stake right now to just sit back and watch from the side lines. I see friends that are making poor choices with their lives because its "Fun". It breaks my heart that people really don't know they are sons & daughters of a loving Heavenly Father.
I just wanted to share this quote and my thoughts. Feel free to share yours.
