Give Thanks~

This is a great time to reflect on all the things we're grateful for. I just had a friend send me an amazing slide show about Temples. (LDS Temples). I am so grateful for the Temple. It is were I was married and sealed to Matt over 11 years ago. It is were I know I can go and feel peace from the outside world. It is were families are sealed for eternity. We are so blessed to have so many Temples around us. I feel that they have been placed on the perimeters of this county as a protection for us. I know its by no accident that they are were They are! I try to get to the Temple once a month...but with things in the world seeming darker and less hopeful, I feel a need to get there more. I know it is the place where I can find instruction for my life and for my family. It is the place where I can go to get the spiritual nourishment I need. I hope we can each try harder to get to the Temple more and if you don't know about the Temple...please ask.

May God Bless You!

~Time Out for Women~

This past weekend I was fortunate to attend, "Time Out for Women". Can I just say, it was amazing. It was the spiritual upliftment I needed. The topics where exactly what I needed to hear and the music touched my soul. I can't describe the spirit I felt as each speaker spoke from their heart. I learned so much that will help me continue my journey here on the earth as a wife, a mother, a friend and as a daughter of God.
There was a moment when Hilary Weeks was playing the piano and asked us to stop and ponder on something we Know...something we actually know in our hearts and minds. I wanted to share my thoughts: I know I am a daughter of a Loving Heavenly Father! I know I have an Elder Brother that knows me...and loves me still. I know I love Matt, always have, always will. I know I love being a mom. I also know, that if we live by the principles of the Gospel we will live happy, fulfilled lives. No one can deny that truth.
At this time of year it is a little easier to reflect on the things we're grateful for. I would like to share a few of my blessing during the month of November. I am grateful for my parents. They are amazing people. I know I got the best of both of them. I am grateful for my brothers and sisters. I love that I came from a large family, (as people outside of Utah would say.) I'm grateful that I am sealed to my husband, my best friend! He is my soul mate...my "Saturday's Warrior." I am grateful for my children. I learn something from them everyday.
I am grateful to be alive at this time. I love my life even with its heartaches and unexpected challenges. I hope you will take time this month to ponder on what you are truly grateful for.

Thought of the day: Obedient

Obedient: Willing to obey. Complying with or submissive to authority
Synonyms:compliant, docile, tractable, yielding, deferential, respectful. Wow that last word makes a statement.

Even in my adulthood, I find it hard to always be obedient. Even though I preach it to my children. So, my thought on this is, I should expect the same from myself as I expect from my kids. Which leads me to my next thought. Who am I being Obedient to? Myself: I have things I want to do and become, but I feel I sabotage myself with self doubt and fear. So, my goal is to be obedient and fulfill those goals and dreams. Second, Obedient to my Heavenly Father. I know I ask a lot and do little in return to be worthy of the things I need and want. I want to do well on a test and ask Heavenly Father to help...but in return I put little effort into studying. Along with Obedience I think goes Consistency. I will do good for a day or a week at something and then go back to my old ways. I'm grateful to have room to grow. I learn so much about myself through my trials and mistakes. I know where I can improve. Obedience is just one more thing I need to work on daily.
Have a great day!

October '09

What an exciting month! Started it off with our trip to Boston, Mass. Then we celebrated Kenistyn's 1st birthday, and ended off with a night of "Trick or Treating." It was so fun to celebrate Keni's birthday. She is such a good baby. We love her and she has brought such a sweet spirit into our home. I love watching her grow and learn.
For our Halloween, we had the traditional Papa Murphy's Jack 'O lantern Pizza and took the kids around the neighborhood for some "trick or treating". Later we went to a "Grown-up" party. I have to admit, it was easier to get into the Spirit of Halloween by dressing up. I look forward to it next year. I love the Holidays. I am excited to celebrate Thanksgiving...because I have so much to be grateful for.
