"Ladies Days"

Whenever I go out with my friends, Matt refers to them as "Ladies Days." But lets face it, we all need to have our "ladies days". For the past few years, ladies in my ward have gotten together for lunch and to exchange an ornament right before Christmas. This year we met at Archibald's in Gardner Village. The turn out was few because of the nice snow storm we got that morning. But it is always fun to see the women that have moved away and to catch up with them. I love the friends I have made in this ward and I hope to stay in touch with all of them, wherever life takes us. And, I appreciate Matt's willingness to let me have a day to myself without kids. (The adult interaction is nice too.)

The Weather outside is Frightful

One reason I love living in Utah is, the snow. I love how the snow makes everything look clean. I was beginning to wonder if we'd have a White Christmas this year or not. I made my family get bundled up for these family pictures. I'm glad they were willing.
I am grateful for so many things this holiday season. With Matt being laid-off just before Thanksgiving, it has made me realize that Heavenly Father listens and answers our prayers. I knew He did, but now I have No doubt. Matt hated his job, literally. He had been praying since August to be able to leave this company. When they pulled him into the office to lay him off, we knew this was our answer. They told him that he should only have gotten a 2 week severance package, but with the Holidays they wanted to give more...3 months more. (Exactly what we had prayed for.) We are still looking for a job, but Matt has the time he needs to look and send out resumes now. We don't see this as a trial, but an opportunity. We are so blessed.

Kenistyn Hope Cordero

She has arrived. Kenistyn Hope Cordero was born on Oct. 27, 2008 at 1:58 pm after about 4 pushes. She weighed 6 lbs. 11 oz. and was 19 inches long. I have to say, this was the easiest delivery. I felt about 4 contraction and then the Anesthesiologist arrived and did an amazing job. I didn't feel a thing. I actually watched the delivery and enjoyed it. Kenistyn was as red as a tomato. But cute as can be. Her heart rate was slow, so they took her and hooked her up to a monitor. She ended up staying in the hospital a day longer so she could be a antibiotics for 48 hours due to an infection. But she is great now. She does everything a baby should do...eats, sleeps, and poops. The kids love her...a little too much. Brynlyn is getting use to her. But I know they will be great friends.


We have been truly blessed to have 4 healthy, beautiful children. We love them all and are grateful for the personalities and talents they have each brought to our family.
I am grateful to be a mother. I know it is the greatest gift our Heavenly Father could give to his daughters. Some days I take that gift for granted. I hope to take the time and enjoy each stage of my children's lives. Time is precious. I know that now!

What? Can't I take a break?

J/K I know I've been such a slacker on my blog. I've been "nesting" for about 2 months now hoping this baby will come. Being pregnant after 30 doesn't get easier. I went to the doctor today and I'm still at a 3 and 90% effaced. No surprise there. So, if nothing else, I'll be induced on Oct. 27. (Thanks Karin for sharing your birthday!) We have chosen the baby's first name..."Kenistyn", but we are stumped on a middle name, and she has to have one because my other girls have one. So any thoughts??? I like "D." or Dee for my dad, Dennis. Or I also like, Dawn & Hope. But if you know of a cute, short name with a good meaning, please feel free to share!
Other than that, really nothing new to report.

~Midnight Ride~

On June 24, 2008 Matt was driving down "Wake Robin" in our subdivision on his Black motorcycle (That I bought for him for his 30th b-day) and a lady pulled out in front of him. Acting quickly, he laid the bike down and rolled a few times down the street. He got some gross looking road rash and a hurt shoulder, but came out of it with minor injuries, thank goodness!!! As for the Bike "Midnight Ride"...its no longer with us. I am still morning the loss. As for Matt...he has moved on. He know rides a Candy Apple Red Honda 1800 NEO. I'll admit, it is a beautiful bike. But I think I'm a little jealous of it. His eyes light up when he looks at it. And once he starts it up, he is in heaven. We'll always have the memory of that beautiful Black Motorcycle.

Kamri Turns *9*

Happy Birthday, Kamri! You are so beautiful to me! I can't believe 9 years have passed already. Where has the time gone? You have grown up so beautifully. I'm amazed how smart and kind you are. You are such a big help to me. I'm so grateful to have you as my daughter and to have the privilege to raise you. I'm so proud of the choices you are making. I know you are gaining a testimony and know what it means to be a daughter of God. You are an example to me and your brother & sister and to so many others. The light you have in you, is so bright and beautiful. I hope you will always know how special you are! Happy Birthday. We love you!

Happy 6th Birthday, Boston!

What a terrific day! The whole day was yours. We had breakfast, made brownies for your party, went and got your birthday picture taken @ Kiddie Kandids, ate lunch with dad at McDonalds, had all your friends over for an Indiana Jones Party, ate SamPan and saw Kung Fu Panda. What a day. But I am truly grateful to celebrate this day with you. I love you so much. You are such a sweet boy. It has been so exciting to watch you grow up over these past 6 years. It will be fun to keep watching you learn and grow. I love you, Boss. Love, Mom!

Oh, the places we have been...

In January, Matt and I spent our 10 year anniversary in Hawaii, on the islands of Oahu and Maui. We started off in Oahu. We went to Pearl Harbor. It was a humbling experience. We watched a video on what took place on that dreadful day and then took a boat out to the USS Arizona. It was a must see for first timers to Oahu. We hiked Diamond Head. It took about 45 minutes to get to the top, but it was well worth it. The view from up there was breath taking. We also went to the LDS temple in Laie and the Polynesian Cultural Center. Both are surrounded but the most lush greenery I have ever seen in my life. It is at the northern part of the island but the scenic drive makes it all worth the time in the car.
The Polynesian Cultural Center was a neat experience. I thought it was a little pricey myself for what you got, but you have to go at least once.
We spent 3 days on Oahu and that was not nearly enough. I would recommend at least five days. We didn't make it to Hanauma Bay for the snorkeling or the North Shore for the surfers...but I plan to return soon.
On Maui it was quite wet most of our trip. I would recommend going in Feb. or Mar. so you can still see the whales. Maui is a great island for relaxing. We took it easy, which I'm not used to, because we usually take vacation that require every minute of our time to see everything. We stayed in Ka'anapli. Beautiful.
I would suggest going snorkeling out to Molokini. We went with a company called Quicksilver. They were great. They also took us over to Turtle Town and did a little whale watching. They served a continental breakfast and a BBQ lunch.
We took a separate Whale Watching tour which was such a neat experience. We saw quite a few whales and spent about an hour on the boat. Time well spent in my book.
If you go, you must eat at C J's Deli and Diner. Their hamburgers were so juicy and tasty. Yum!Also, try the Gazebo for breakfast. The White Chocolate Macadamia Pancakes are delicious.
The Dinner Cruise we went on was over rated. But I would do another one with a different company.
Over all, I can't wait to go back. Hawaii is beautiful and the people are so friendly.
One last tip...make sure to save for groceries. Food is a bit more expensive over there.

Baby Girl!

Had my ultrasound today and found out, we are having another girl. I have mixed emotions. I love my 2 girls and I just wanted a little brother for Boss. But we will love her just as much. If you have any suggestions of cute, but not common girl names, feel free to send them our way.

Slacker!

It has been quite some time since I've updated my blog. Life passes by and before ya know it, 4 months have gone by. But there's always time to work on those New Years Resolutions...Pacrastination. I'm really just checking my blog to see if I remember how to sign in...I guess I do.
