Something new...

So, I have to admit I'm one of those "Pinterest" addicts. I get on there everyday. Sometimes I look for specific things and sometimes, I just browse. Either way, I love it. One thing I love to look for on Pinterest, are new recipes I want to try.  So, with that in mind, I want to share my thoughts about these recipes.  To start off with, I tried one today, that I loved. It was easy and delicious.
So good!
Ingredients

Peanut Butter Bars / recipe
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs*
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
In a large microwave-safe bowl, melt together butter and peanut butter. Add graham cracker crumbs and powdered sugar. Mix until well blended. Press into an un-greased 9″x 9″ pan.
For frosting: Melt together 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips and 1/3 cup peanut butter, stirring frequently until smooth. Spread over bars. Refrigerate for 1 hour.  (I used Butterscotch instead of Peanut Butter chips and they were still very tasty!)

So, if you are looking for a quick treat to make the fam, these have my stamp of approval! De-lish!

New Years Par-Tay 2012

We had a great New Years. My brother, Mike and his family came up from Spanish Fork to celebrate with us. While the kids were home having Pizza, the adults went out to Iggy's. YUM! It was so nice to chat with Mike & Karin...we don't get to see them as often as we would like.  After dinner we came home and got the party started with lots of food...lots! Then we watched "Sherlock Holmes". Mike & Karin hadn't seen it yet, and we didn't mind watching it again.
Not sure what they're laughing about, but I'm sure it was funny!

Love the Outfit...boots & Pj's.
Yay...Its 2012! What a great year its going to be!
That means " '12 "

December to Remember 2011

We had a wonderful Holiday season. We had our annual Breakfasts with the Merritt's and Dinner with the Wybrow's. We saw the lights at Temple Square. We went down to Spanish Fork for our annual party & hayride at Mike & Karin's, (loved it!). I went to dinner with my dad and sister's...one of my favorite traditions. And many family, work, & ward parties to go to. I love this time of year when I get to see so many people that I love.

Favorite Moments in 2011

The other day, I took a look back at this past year. As my 2011 Resolution, I decided to just focus on one word. I chose, "Happy" as my word for the year. I wanted to be happy with whatever came my way. Even though there are still things I need to work on, over all, I am very happy with the way 2011 ended.
At the beginning of the year, Matt was unemployed. I was scared, worried, and confused. But in March Matt received a position at Aramark Uniform Services as an Account Executive. I am so grateful for this employment. Matt also received a Part-time position as a Seminary teacher at Highland High school. He loves it. And it has been a major blessing in our lives, despite how time consuming it is.
Matt & I got to spend 4 days in Seattle, WA. It was a quick trip, but it was so nice to get away, just the 2 of us. Washington is such a beautiful state.
Brynlyn started Kindergarten, (sniff, sniff) Boston started the 4th grade at a new school where Grandma teaches and both him and Brynlyn love it. Kamri started Middle School at Sunset Ridge, ( more sniffles!) She is maturing into a beautiful, young lady. Kenistyn is my little side-kick. I love having one on one time with her. I can't believe how fast my kids are growing up and I am just soaking it all up. I don't want to miss a thing. I love being their mom!
In October, I ran a 6K down at Thanksgiving Point. That was a personal triumph. I can't wait for warmer weather to run outside again! We feel very blessed. We are all looking forward to a New Year. I just need to decide on a word for 2012...

Back tracking...

In August I agreed to train for a 6k down at Thanksgiving Point. My sweet friend Gina, also agreed to help me train. She was such an asset to me in my success in the 6k. On October 8, 2011, I ran my very first 6k. It was an amazing experience. As I got near the finish line, I got a little emotional. "I did it, I did something for myself that no one else could do for me." That is what I was thinking as I ran across the finish line. I am so grateful for my friends that ran it with me and for their support and motivation. I am so grateful for a body that proved it could do it, even when I wanted to quit. I am so thankful for "My Trainer" that was there every morning ready to run, come rain or shine. I am so excited for the next 6K!

I love these beautiful women! Thanks!

My cheering section.

What she's really doing...

So, last night when I put Kenistyn to bed, I thought she was sound asleep...until she came down the stairs to show me her new do. AAAHHHHH. "What did you do?" That's all I could say. I went up to my bath room and there was hair all over the floor. But she tried to clean it up by putting a hand full of hair in the garbage. What a sweet heart. So, today we took her to get it fixed...as much as possible for now. She's got the "Bieber" hair do going on. But we still think she's a cutie.
