Letter A: Aerospace Museum

For the letter A, we went to the Aerospace Museum. I have lived in Utah my whole life and I have never been there. It was really neat. The planes are huge! It was such a great field trip for my kids. They loved the hands-on activity center. My personal favorite was the Stealth plane.

Letter I - Independence Day!

For the Letter I, I thought it would be fitting to celebrate for Independence Day. We had a little picnic and then went to the Sandy Parade with our friends, the Merritt's. It was so nice because Dustin saved us seats right at the front of the Parade. The kids got plenty of candy and goodies. Later that night Matt took Kamri and Boston to see West Jordan's Fireworks. We love living in a free country. God Bless America!

Letter H - Horse rides

For the letter H, my dad offered to saddle up his horses and let the kids come over for some Horse-back rides. Kamri is a natural. She got right on that horse. Boston got on with my little nephew, Connor and they had quite the experience...the horse decided he was done and sat down with Boston and Connor on him. Thank goodness my dad and brother-in-law, Jason were right there and the boys didn't get hurt. (I wish I got a picture of it, but I was a little in shock.) But to my surprise, Boston and Connor both got right back on.
Brynlyn was very hesitant. It took much convincing that she would be Okay before she would get on a horse. But she did it and she had a good time. Kenistyn also enjoyed her "Horsie-Ride". Thanks dad! He got the job of leading the kids around in circles. But he would do anything for his grand kids. We love you, Grandpa!

Alphabet Summer Continued

Letter B:
On Kamri and Boston's last day of school, I wanted to take them to the Library. They needed to get their own library card and some good Books for the summer. I let them each choose a Book of their choice and I chose a Book.

Later that night we had a Backyard BBQ with the Merritts and some tasty treats.

I love Mormon ads. Matt found this one on LDS.org. It seems very fitting for our life right now. Matt is currently unemployed, again. After praying and fasting and attending the Temple. He got a job at a company that promised many things. "If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is." I know how true that statement is. We are very hopeful for our future. We know the Lord has a perfect plan for our family. We know He hears our prayers and will answer them on His time. Whether they be here on earth or in Heaven...we will be patient.

Alphabet Summer Bandwagon

I have been following blogs for many years, mostly to keep in touch with friends and family. I often get great ideas from the blogs I follow which is an added perk! I have read a few that have done an "Alphabet Summer". I thought this is a Fabulous idea. I can entertain my kids and throw in some educational material during the summer break. I have made a list of all the things I want to do. I also made a worksheet for each kid for each letter. I will have Kamri and Boston work on their penmanship and grammar skills. Brynlyn will work on writing and learning her letters.
We started off this weekend with the letter C. We went Camping with our ward. (That worked out perfect.) It was a lot of fun...and work. I know now why we don't go camping very often. It's as much work to get ready as it is when we return. It was the perfect weather and it was beautiful up in the mountains. I would like to take my kids up to the mountains more. It was nice to get away from the city and housework. :)

Tribute to Mothers!

This is amazing! Stephanie Nielson is a true example of what motherhood really means. There is a quote in this video that struck me to my soul, "When suffering, we may in fact be nearer to God then we have ever been in our entire lives. That knowledge can turn every such situation into a would-be Temple. Regarding our earthly journey, the Lord has promised, "I will go before you face, I will be on your right hand and on your left. My Spirit shall be in your hearts and mine Angels round about you to bear you up". That is an everlasting declaration of God's love and care for us. Including and perhaps especially, in times of trouble."

I can say without a doubt that the Lord has been with me and I recognize His Spirit stronger during my trials and I have seen His hand guiding me through this life.

I love the women in my life. They are all example's of what Womanhood, Motherhood, and Sisterhood mean. I am grateful for my own mother. She is a strong, courageous woman! She is very generous and cares deeply for others. I am grateful for my grandmothers and great grandmothers. All, who had a roll in my life and the way I turned out. I hope I have made them proud. I am grateful for my Mother-in-law. She is such a sweet, giving woman. I don't personally know anyone who has done more Humanitarian work then her. What an example. I am also grateful to her, for raising such an amazing man.

Last, I am grateful to BE a mother. I take that roll for granted too often. I get busy with laundry and keeping the house clean and orderly. But I love my children. They teach me every day what Christ-like love is.
